Frequently Asked Questions
My job/lifestyle won't allow me to have nice nails
No matter what job you have, you can have lovely nails & skin. Your career and lifestyle may determine which treatment will be best suited to you. Our team will help you find the perfect solution.
I already have nails on from another salon
We will not work on another salon's extensions. Some products won't work well together if they're from different brands. Some salons use MMA which we won't use. We like to check the condition of your nails before we do anything to them. Please have previous product removed before making an appointment. Be assured that we only use safe UK-approved products on your nails. We rarely remove gel polish that wasn’t applied by us but try to help where possible. We would need to know the brand of gel that was used.
Can I buy a gift voucher?
We sell paper gift vouchers in an envelope in any amount on our online shop and in the salon. They are usually valid for 6 months. Both are available to collect in the salon or contact us to make other arrangements if you need it posted. Please give us plenty of notice!
We now also offer ‘Tokens’ - an even cuter way of treating your bestie. Ask in salon for info.
do i get a reminder about my appointment?
Our system will send you a confirmation EMAIL when the appointment is booked in and then you will receive a reminder EMAIL 48 hours before your appointment. If you are not getting these, please make sure that you contact us and we can check we have the correct details for you.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M LATE TO MY APPOINTMENT?
We know that life happens (even we run late sometimes too) but we need our day to run as smoothly as possible so we don’t run over for every other client visiting us that day. If you are more than 10 minutes late, your appointment may need to be altered or cancelled but we always try our best to accommodate. Please call the salon if you are going to be late rather than emailing as our staff won’t be able to check emails when with clients.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T SHOW UP TO MY APPOINTMENT?
You will be charged 100% of the missed appointment. If two ‘no - shows’ occur, we may no longer be able to accept you as a client.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT LAST MINUTE?
We always ask that you give us 24 hours notice if you need to cancel/rearrange your appointment but we understand that things happen. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged 50% of the missed appointment. If you rearrange twice, the same rules will apply. Please try to call rather than email if you need to cancel (especially if its last minute) as we don’t always have time to check emails between clients. We will always try to fill your slot before having to send you a fee.
Can I BRING MY CHILDREN OR DOG TO MY APPOINTMENT?
Sorry we don’t allow children in the salon. We are 18+ only. Well behaved dogs are welcome although they must be good with other dogs as Rolo the chi is usually around!
WHAT AGE DO I NEED TO BE TO VISIT THE SALON?
We are now an 18+ salon. We care very much about the health of your nails and we believe that people aged 18 & over will be committed to letting us take care of their nails with regular appointments. Also acrylic extensions are pretty heavy going for little nails that are still growing so we do not advise that anyone under the age of 16 gets this treatment. Our clients range from 18 to 80 and we welcome anyone, no matter gender!
why should i use cuticle oil?
cuticle oil has many benefits. It prevents cuticles from cracking and looking dry. A good cuticle oil keeps the nails and any product on them flexible. By massaging oil in daily or twice daily, you will improve blood flow to the root of your nail which results in longer, stronger nails over time.
Any helpful tips for after care?
Make sure to use a cuticle oil as often as you can, then a hand cream over the top. We recommend the Dadi line that we stock in the salon. Make sure you don’t pick your nails or use them as tools to open things or pick at stickers etc. This will cause your gel mani to lift or your natural nails to weaken. When coming in to contact with things like hand sanitiser, fake tan, hair dye, new black clothing or hot tubs, be super careful as this can also cause lifting and staining. Wear gloves for decorating, gardening and your dishes. Head over to our IGTV for a video on how to give yourself a mini mani whilst doing these kinds of jobs!
My manicure is not lasting as long as it used to
Here are factors that could be affecting your nails:
~ medication e.g. antibiotics, skin tablets, heart meds, insulin.
~ If you have been feeling unwell, fatigued or not drinking enough water.
~ changes in your hormones e.g. pregnancy.
~ incorrect nail prep from a nail tech (we can always tell this so please show us if this happens)
~ Allergies or sensitivities to certain products. If you have used a home gel polish kit or had someone else use a different brand of gel polish on your nails recently, this could have caused a contact allergy. We call this ‘over exposure’. This is because you could have taken a reaction to gel polish touching the skin or applying the product too thick to the nail. We recommend leaving it to the pros!
I think i need a repair on one nail, can i come in?
We want you to get the longest out of your manicure or pedicure so we offer free repairs for up to one week. After 7 days, there will be a small charge to fit you in for a fix. Usually no more than £5. You still usually need an appointment for a repair.
